Red Land USA Little League Baseball Champions

The Red Land Little League Baseball team is made up of thirteen young boys from our area who made it all the way to this year's Little League World Series.  It was a nail-biter of a series for everyone here who were rooting the team on but what an exciting time.  Red Land defeated all the teams they played up until Saturday August 29, 2015 when they beat Texas and became USA National League Champions.  The team played against Japan the next day on Sunday afternoon for the title of World Champions.  Things started out good but Japan managed to pull it out and win by 7 points to become World Champs.  Lewisberry and the surrounding townships where these young boys reside are incredibly proud of them and their efforts.

There was a midnight ride home to Lewisberry from Williamsport, PA through the local communities on a fire truck, time spent with Penn State's football team, a barbeque with PA Governor Tom Wolfe and today a big local parade that ended with a ceremony in the huge parking lot of the local mall.  Thinking the parade, which began at 9AM would finished by 1PM, I made what I thought would be a quick trip to the grocery store located in this same mall.  Roads were still closed, the parking lot was packed and the store was crowded as I headed to the store.  I got what I needed at the store and took a route home that allowed me to miss most of the remaining hubbub.

Mr P and I made a trip to the same grocery store earlier this week to purchase T-shirts especially made for the title win.  Mr P got a shirt and we got Grandsons #1 and #2 a shirt in commemoration of the fact that their Mom (OnlyDaughter) grew up in this area and went to school with one of the coaches of the team.  Shirts were mailed on Wednesday and the boys got them on Friday.

Again, Congratulations to Red Land Little League National Champions!!!!

Today the humidity is not as bad outside after a week of ugh weather.  Right now, Mr P and Mr C, a good friend, are watching Penn State take on Temple in Penn State's first football game of the season.
No walking in the A.M. this weekend since my walking buddy has out-of-town house guests.  Tomorrow there will be a picnic at sister J's.
Have a safe Labor Day holiday.
