Lots of color

There's lots of color outside now that warmer weather is here.
Grape hyacinths in the midst of a bleeding heart plant.

New leaves and small figs starting on the fig tree.

Lots of flowers on the new crabapple trees down at The Puddle Pond.

Closeup of the flowers on the crabapple tree.

The beautiful and large azalea that I transplanted from my Grandmother's home.

A mini lemon/lime hosta

Foam flowers and a fern in their midst.

The dragon (a treasured gift from OnlyDaughter and her family years ago) in the flower bed in the front yard and other weeds that will need pulled.

It's thundering outside and raining right now.  The rain is to continue off and on tonight and tomorrow but Friday is to be a beauty.  Warm temps, sunny and of course no rain.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Late as usual

Here is the May 1st picture of The Puddle Pond and it's only four days late!  Mr P took the picture on May 1st for me and even downloaded my pics.  It has taken me until today to sit down and do a quick post.

Here is another picture down at the pond.  We set a nylon and netting gazebo up down there and have been going down when I get home from work in the evening to sit for a while and enjoy the warmer weather and peace and quiet.

Today is Chance's 20th birthday!!!
I didn't want to miss observing her birthday.  She is such a sweetheart.  In August she will be with us 5 years but it seems as if she has always lived here.  She's in great physical shape and is very affectionate.  Not a lap cat, but will stretch out beside me on the sofa, purr and knead the air when I brush her.

As I was in the kitchen this morning getting ready to go outside to help Mr P with some gardening chores, I noticed this turkey hen walking across the back yard like she was lost.  Mr P snapped some pictures and she decided to change her route a little.  We're not sure who or what she was hunting but when I went out a little later to get some groceries, I saw a big jake strolling up the field behind our house.  Was he hunting her at the same time she was hunting him?

It's been a busy few weeks both at work and here at home.  The garden is planted.  The asparagus is being cut but nothing else is quite ready to harvest yet.  OnlyDaughter gave me a breadmaker she was no longer using and I've made a loaf of bread each week which we've shared with the neighbors.  Some baked goods were made today that will go to work with me tomorrow in celebration of a coworkers birthday.
I'll be back later this week with some pictures of some of my favorite spring flowers and the start of figs on the fig trees.
I hope wherever you are the weather is as nice as it has been here.  Rain is forecast for several days this week and we can use it.
Have a good rest of the weekend.
