Grandparents Day!

Last week was Grandparents, Special Friends and Family Day at Grandsons #1 and #2's academy.  The trip began the day before with our arrival at OnlyDaughter and OnlySonInLaw's home in time for dinner.  OnlyDaughter has been baking her own bread, amongst other things, and we had the tastiest french bread with dinner.

The next morning the household was busy with the boys getting ready for school, OnlySonInLaw getting ready for work and Mr P and I getting ready for Grandparents Day.
OnlyDaughter drove us to the Academy for the day to begin.  This is a picture of the school coming up the drive.

Our first class was band.  Grandson #1 plays the trombone and we were treated to a practice session of some of the pieces they are going to play in their upcoming concert.  All of the pieces that were played were very familiar tunes.  It pleases me greatly that both boys play an instrument and enjoy music.  OnlyDaughter learned to play the flute in fourth grade and played in concert and marching band all the way through her school years.
Here we are in Social Studies class.  Grandson #1 does very well in school.  It was delightful to see what he is studying and meet his classmates.
The day ended on a somewhat funny note.  At the beginning of our last class of the day, there was a fire drill.  It wasn't a planned drill but there wasn't a fire.  Fire hydrants were flushed in the community where the school is located causing the school's sprinkler system to register low water pressure causing the alarm to go off.
The next day OnlyDaughter chauffered us to the Junior school for Grandson #2's special day.

He was in the hallway when we entered to get our name tags serving as a Grandparents Day Volunteer.  The hallway was lined with art projects from all grades for everyone's inspection.  As you can see, some of it was very colorful.

The Junior School puts on a program for a large part of the morning in the gymnasium with all grades, pre-kindergarten through fifth grade participating.
Grandson #2 situated himself on the riser with other classmates and they sang two songs.

He took a seat on the floor at the front of the stage to play the glockenspiel.  The entire program is always lots of fun and the students take a lot of pride in making sure they put on a good show.  We have one more year at the Junior School and then when Grandson #2 moves to the Middle School, Grandson #1 will have moved on to the Senior High School.

Below is a picture that Grandson#2's fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Anderson, took of us when we first entered the classroom.

We love you both boys and can't wait to see you again soon!

The weekend, which is right around the corner, is much anticipated.  Have a good rest of the week wherever you are.

April Fool's Day

The April 1st picture of The Puddle Pond.
The sun was shining today and the wind was blowing.

Last weekend was full moon and our walk on Saturday and Sunday were moonlit.  I love our early morning walks and they are especially beautiful when it is full moon.
The daily drive in to work at 6AM gives me a chance to appreciate the beauty at start of the day, reflect and plan my day.

Here's hoping you had a nice Easter yesterday.
