As they say, "Better Late Then Never"

Yow!  It's been almost a month since I last posted and the first of September has come and gone.  Below is the September 1 picture of The Puddle Pond.  As you can see the lily pads are back with a vengence but no more spraying will take place this season.  As the weather cools, they will die off and be no more.    It would be so nice to get to the roots of these plants to eradicate them completely but what a job that would be.  Yucky, dirty, cold, spring-fed water and slimy, slippery roots.  Maybe sometime in the future, we can get a track-hoe in to clean out the pond and during that process, clear out the lily pads.
The power company is still working to replace that spidery electric tower at the top of the hill with a big rusty pole.  Preparations have moved along even further and there is now and H shaped structure on the far side of the tower that will probably hold the electric lines until the switch is complete.

The next three pictures are of a mama deer and her two fawns having a leafy green snack in the form of my vegetable plants.  They each seemed to pick an area of the garden that suited their fancy and went to town.  Mama favored the cucumber plants while the little ones moved from the potatoes to the squash plants.

Between my Monday-Friday job and the normal things that need done here at home, time has flown by quickly.   My walking buddies and I are still getting in our Saturday and Sunday morning walks which are wonderful now that the weather is cooler.  We sometimes are able to get out in the evenings for a walk too.  There are some pictures on the camera that need downloaded for my next post.  Until then, have a good end of the weekend and upcoming week.
